The Fall IV lab is back.  No experience is necessary.  Participants will learn how to place a peripheral IV under the guidance of an expert provider and will have the opportunity to successfully place an IV in a consenting peer. We have room for 36 members per session.  Both sessions are identical and you can only sign-up for one session.  Everyone that signs up beyond the 36th spot will be placed on the waitlist.  There is one waitlist for both sessions.  We will be practicing on each other, participants will be require to let their partner place an IV in them.  Please sign-up with your email address.  Sign-up here.

InVision Business in Medicine, ENT Club, and EMED will be having Jimmy McEldrew's father, a Medical Malpractice Lawyer, come in as our guest speaker next Tuesday, October 26 @ 5pm in Zedeck.

James McEldrew and his colleague will be talking about general aspects of the medical malpractice system, and how it works in Pennsylvania.

They will give insight about :
1. What is it like to be involved in a malpractice case.
2. Various conflict of interest of attending and insurance companies.
3. How to avoid some malpractice issues.

Members will be in small groups and rotate to different stations.  Although we're waiting to hear back regarding specific equipment availability, previous stations have included: airway management, ultrasound, intravenous access on mannequin arms, splinting, and IO access.  This is NOT the IV lab where we practice IVs on each other. Currently, this lab can only accommodate 20 members per session.  Those that sign-up beyond the limit will be placed on the waitlist.  Members can only sign-up for one session per evening. Come learn what it takes to treat patients in a disaster zone, a Revenant-like situation, or any environment where medical resources are scarce. The Wilderness Medicine Club and Emergency Medicine Club are thrilled to host Dr. Sanders of Temple Medicine.  Dr. Sanders is an incredible Emergency Medicine Physician who specializes in Austere/Wilderness Medicine.  This is a fascinating field and we hope everyone can make it.  In austere medical conditions preparation is essential.  With that in mind, please via the survey below so that we avoid a scarce pizza situation.
